Polyester Melange Polar Fleece advantage:
Polyester fleece looks like polyester: clean colour, a little sheen, a hand that feels like what it is. Polyester Melange Polar Fleece puts 13% viscose in the blend, and that one change does more than any finish could. The two fibres take dye differently, so the yarn comes out heathered without a print, and the viscose gives the cloth a drier, warmer hand, nearer wool than plastic. It also changes what you can cut: a fleece with this hand falls rather than stands, so a long cardigan, an unlined jacket or a knit dress behaves like a garment, not a sweatshirt. The Double-sided Milano Check adds the other half: a small check finished on both faces, so the surface reads as considered rather than as plaid. At 300g/m² with 6% spandex it recovers at every cuff and band; and since a check cannot be joined invisibly, 185cm means fewer joins and fewer places the pattern has to lie.
1/ The viscose does the work. 13% takes the sheen off the polyester and leaves a hand nearer wool than fleece.
2/ A melange with a reason. The heather comes from two fibres dyeing differently, so the depth is in the cloth, not printed on.
3/ A check you can wear under a coat. At this scale it reads as a considered surface, not a statement plaid.
4/ Cut without joins. A check can never be pieced invisibly, so 185cm buys a garment that looks matched, not joined.

Processing Recommendations

- Match the check both ways. A stripe lines up in one direction; a check crosses, so mark the pair and the cross on the pieces that show most.
- Test the heat before you press. Viscose is the part that glazes, so keep the temperature down and go easy with steam.
- Wash one sample before the bulk. Viscose governs how a 300g blend shrinks and how the hand settles, and it only shows after a cycle.
- Plan the seams around the shaping. Darts and raglan lines interrupt a small check, so set the angles and let it break where you want.
- Settle the edge finish early. Both faces are presentable, so a rolled or bound edge is open to you; test it, or the hem drifts against the check.
