French terry stretch knit advantage:
At 280g/m², French terry stretch knit has a fine, clearly defined grain across the face that reads neat rather than busy, and a warm looped back that holds heat without adding bulk. With 75.3% cotton in the blend the face has a genuine cotton hand, while 16.6% polyester and 8.1% spandex give it high stretch and the recovery to hold its shape. Indigo dyed, so it carries the denim family look and sits with the rest of a denim range. At 175cm it's a generous width, which cuts efficiently for the slim panels this cloth is built for. For leggings and skinny pants it does what a heavier knit can't: it stretches properly, stays close to the body, and still reads as denim.
1/ High stretch. With 8.1% spandex it has real elasticity, and enough recovery to keep its shape through wear.
2/ Fine, clearly defined grain. A neat surface that stays readable instead of blurring.
3/ A warm back. The reverse traps heat, so it suits cool-weather pieces without the weight.

French terry stretch knit processing recommendations:
1/ Relax the roll before cutting. At 8.1% spandex this knit will move, and a day on the table saves a re-cut later.
2/ Keep the faces consistent. The loop side goes inside, and the fine grain reads differently under light if panels are laid the other way round.
3/ Fit the machine to the cloth. A needle suited to knits, even tension, and don't pull the panels as they feed or you'll drop stitches.
4/ Low heat on the press, and no direct plate contact. Heat flattens the looped back and takes the recovery out of the spandex.
5/ Sample and wash before bulk. Check recovery and shrinkage on a finished garment, not on the greige.
